The Edersee is a special body of water - with 11,8 km² of water surface, it is the second largest reservoir in Germany. The Kellerwald-Edersee Nature Park has been the tenant of the fishing rights on the Edersee since 2003. Due to its location in the national park and sustainable management, it not only shines with its beauty, but also offers anglers excellent water quality and a diverse fish population.
Since the reservoir serves to provide water for the Oberweser and the Mittelland Canal, water levels fluctuate greatly. But even if the lake appears "empty" - the fish population remains the same.
The main target fish in the Edersee are pike, zander, perch, roach, bream and sea bass. Since we are on one at the Edersee sustainable fisheries management no fish stocking will be carried out.
Spin fishing, bottom fishing, trolling and vertical fishing are suitable for predator fishing. Float fishing and feeder fishing are suitable for catching fresh fish. Fishing is possible both from the shore and from a boat.
Fishing is possible with a permit from the bridge near Herzhausen (Alte Bundesstraße) to the barrier wall.
