Nature park guides

Ambassadors of the nature park

Our nature park guides are true ambassadors for the nature park. With their comprehensive knowledge of flora, fauna, geology, and history, they make every tour an exciting journey of discovery. In the end, you'll take home not only beautiful impressions but also new insights.

Our nature park guides

Currently, around 60 nature park guides are active in the nature park, including over 20 who also work as national park guides. National Park Kellerwald-Edersee are active. All nature park guides work on a voluntary basis for the protected areas and receive compensation for their work.

Our nature park guides are “Certified nature and landscape guides“(ZNL), trained by the Hessian Academy for Nature Conservation according to the BANU (Federal Working Group of State-Supported Educational Institutions in Nature and Environmental Protection) guidelines. We offer a certification course approximately every three years to recruit more volunteers. Those with prior forest education training or similar qualifications are also welcome to join us, even as career changers.”

Would you like to become a nature park guide yourself?

We are always happy to receive applications for the position of volunteer nature park guide.

Please note, however, that you must provide proof of relevant certificates (ZNL course or similar) and prior knowledge.
We can gladly discuss the possibility of collaboration over the phone or at a joint meeting.
