Ice Age relics at Bilstein

outing/excursion

The Bilstein near Reitzenhagen is one of the most botanically interesting areas in Northern Hesse. Among other things, the maiden pink, the clustered asphodel, and the alpine flax thrive there as Ice Age relicts. A special feature is a small population of the golden aster, whose only known location in Northern Hesse is on the Bilstein.
