Route 1 leads over the Eder and past the small Siechenrasen chapel to the city tour. The historic old town with its old half-timbered houses and narrow streets is surrounded by a largely intact city wall with towers. After crossing the Mühlengraben at Malerwinkel, the winter tower shows the way. The Fritzlar Cathedral of St. Peter invites you to visit. It was founded by Boniface around 723. Fritzlar is the place where the Christianization of Central and Northern Germany began.
