The route passes remarkable barrows in the “Hochstein” area, which date back to the Bronze Age. With a wonderful view of the old Edertal!

The Asel bat nature trail is largely integrated into circular route 2, with informative stations providing exciting insights into the life of the flying mammals. A small exhibition is housed in an old transformer station. Here, infrared cameras provide a live insight into the bats' nursery. Thanks to committed human help, the Asel bat population was secured in the long term.
