Route 3 follows the course of the Schwalm in the valley, towards Kerstenhausen. After moving to the other bank of the Schwalm, it continues through the fertile meadow landscape towards Bad Zwesten. Past the Otto Mill, the Leo Mill and the riding hall with a swing past the Löwensprudelpark back to the parking lot.

Bad Zwesten and its districts can be easily reached via the following roads:
- A 44 (exit no. 67, Zierenberg)
- A 49 (exit no. 16, Borken)
- and the federal highways B 3 and B 485
Schwalmtal hiking car park.
The hiking parking spaces in the Kellerwald-Edersee Nature Park are generally free of charge.
