Hiking trails in the nature park
A distinctive feature of nature parks is their human influence. Experiencing nature and enjoying recreation in the outdoors helps us recognize what needs protecting. A good network of hiking trails and appropriate trail management are crucial in this regard. One of our tasks is to make the region accessible to you through hiking trails. This includes marking, maintaining, and digitizing existing trails, as well as developing new ones.
As a certified quality region of "Wanderbares Deutschland" (Hiking in Germany), the region offers everything a hiker's heart desires. Our signposted and marked hiking trails lead you through our Kellerwald-Edersee Nature Park. On diverse trails, you'll travel through meadow valleys and along streams in the Kellerwald forest, along rustic paths around the Edersee lake, through picturesque half-timbered villages and the cultural landscape of the Arche-Region Frankenau, through spa towns, up to the Wüstegarten mountain, and much more.
In the Kellerwald you will find nature and unspoiled beauty instead of noise and bustle: ancient forests, wide views, historic castles or refreshing streams and healing springs.
