ZNL training course

Support the nature park as a nature park guide.

The Zweckverband Naturpark Kellerwald-Edersee (Special Purpose Association for the Kellerwald-Edersee Nature Park) coordinates a comprehensive nature- and experience-oriented educational program in the nature park according to the concept “education for Sustainable Development“It is being implemented by numerous volunteer nature park guides, who have acquired the necessary qualifications through the ZNL training course.

The course will take place in spring/summer 2026. for the 8th time Offered to interested parties with the aim of expanding the group of active nature park guides (currently around 50). Especially in cooperation with Kindergartens, schools and youth hostels There is a high demand for events and therefore for nature park guides.

Who can apply?

  • all ages 16 and over, who have the desire and, above all, the time, long-term in the educational work of the nature park guided tours and events on Volunteer basis to perform
  • Prerequisitese.g. in the educational or natural sciences fields, are Advantageous, but not absolutely necessary.
  • Enjoyment of being outdoors, the willingness to engage with the Nature and culture of the region to engage intensively and the desire to to creatively share one's own knowledge, should of course be present

What are the costs?

The ZNL course is partly financed through a grant. The fee for participants is 300 euros.This includes participation in the course as well as the Basic equipment for the nature park clothing. The nature park covers the remaining costs.

How does the course work?

In 5 modules (approximately in total) 80h) the participants receive the natural history and cultural foundations the region, the concept of a education for Sustainable Development and basics of Communication and Didactics mediated. The Practical component in the course very highActive participation, a diverse range of speakers, and a good mix of "outdoor and indoor" activities ensure plenty of variety and, of course, lots of fun.

The course concludes with a Examination, consisting of a written test, a written report on the first time the participant has led a tour, and a small practical insight into the participant's own leadership.

Naturally, the attendance of participants should be as high as possible (at least 80%).
